- Modernism In DesignHere I have highlighted the key points from the Lecture.Notes I have taken:Summary:
Modernism was not just one unit as a movement, but actually (in Fine Art) lots of "isms" –such as Cubism, and later Dadaism and Futurism. What brought modernist artists and designers together was a desire to break away from the conventions of representational and objective art. For the first time ever, they threw away known and over used rules of perspective, colour, and composition in order to work out something new. In the design world, this was brought to an extreme, where Modernism defined an entirely new structure, a clean and timeless look that had never been seen before. Modernist design could still look contemporary today.
